Known for her unique holistic approach to general and Cosmetic dentistry, Dr. M. Azadeh Afzali, Founder and Clinical Director at Lifetime Dental, utilizes her nearly 30 years of clinical experience in all fields of dentistry to bring you an unmatched level of care and expertise. Dr. Afzali addresses your oral health as it relates to your overall health. Her emphasis is on prevention and early detection of dental problems. She devotes a major portion of her practice to patient education. She is an educator and speaker, helping to raise awareness on the systemic connection and the emotional impact of oral health. Her purpose is to improve the condition of communities around her, and she has been running the "Way to Happiness Campaign" for the past eighteen years, all aimed to help families and youth to live a clean and purposeful life. She believes in the human side of dentistry and medicine in general. With that in mind she constantly incorporates gentle and non-toxic procedures in her three Southern California practices. Her practices are mercury and metal free. She uses aroma therapy in her practices to create a calming and pleasant experience for her patients. She has assembled an effective non-surgical soft tissue management using laser therapy and botanical rinses to treat gum disease. She provides patients of all ages with Fastbraces, a patented technology which provides functional orthodontic in a fraction of time it usually takes for regular braces.

Her passion is to create esthetic and beauty in the form of Art, Design and Crafts. her hubbies is Floral Design and Crafts. By color and design based on science of color therapy, she creates floral designs and Crafts to create different emotional responses. She enjoys incorporating her graft in her dentistry not only on creating natural beautiful smiles but to add some creativity in the concept of dentistry.

Dr. Pedram Fakheri completed his Bachelor Degree in Biology from Yeshiva University. He received his D.M.D. degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry New Jersey. Immediately following graduation, he continued his surgical training in Advanced Education in Periodontics and Implant Surgery and received his specialty certificate and M.S.D. degree from Loma Linda University. Dr. Fakheri is board certified by the American Academy of Periodontology.

Patient Question Braces

My 15 year old daughter needs braces but there is no way she is going to go for the old fashion wires and brackets. What is fast braces and does that consist of wires/brackets? Also, is there a difference between Invisalign and Invisalign Teen? I'm worried she won't have the self-discipline to wear the Invisalign properly. What do you recommend as the fastest/easiest but also most effective option?

Answer by Dr. Afzali

Fastbraces is a simple process. Uses a different technology than regular braces which cuts the treatment time substantially. It usually takes three months to a year. It does use wires and brackets however they are different technology than regular wires and brackets. Also because the treatment time is short most patients who don't consider conventional braces are open to Fastbraces. Invisalign Teen is a clear removable aligned like invisalign. It is a great option for patients who don't like wires and brackets. However the compliance is a key factor and without it would not be a good choice. Also the treatment time is longer than Fastbraces. It is similar to conventional braces in that regard. The fastest and most effective option would be Fastbraces.
